“If we’re going to kiss, it has to be book-worthy.”
Colleen Hoover and I should be best friends. For real. I love the shit out of this woman and her books. She’s fucking brilliant. She had me laughing so hard in the first few chapters that I am pretty sure the hubster thought I was nuts. It takes a true artist to create a story that conjures so many different emotions. I laughed, I cried and I laughed until I cried. I read this in one sitting when I should have been sleeping! Looked over at the clock and oh hey 1:52 AM! Oops…. needless to say my alarm was not my friend three hours later.
“I thought I was stronger than a word, but I just discovered that having to say goodbye to you is by far the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.”
So often I find that I either love a character or despise them; however, this novel had me torn in two. I had moments where both Ben and Fallon annoyed me to all hell but that’s what made them so lovable in other moments. Their fun and quirky banter was witty and entertaining and then there were times where I wanted to throw my phone (yes my phone!) against the wall and then track the characters down in my dreams, take them by the shoulders and shake the ever living shit out of them. No lie. It killed me.
Then there was this:
“”Don’t stop,” I tease in a seductive voice. “Give me more, Ben. Did you read eBooks or…” I run my finger slowly down his chest.”Hardbacks?”
He pulls his hands behind his head and a smug look washes over his face. “Oh, they were hardbacks, all right. And I’m not sure if you’re ready for this, but… I have my own TBR pile. You should read it, Fallon. It’s huge.””
What are you waiting for?! This book is a standalone and it’s waiting for you to devour it.
