His wavy honey hair stands on edge, from my fingers running through it at least a hundred times. His white tee shirt is wrinkled, and my lipstick is smeared all over his neck and lips, like I’ve marked him. He looks at me with a hint of uncertainty mixed with a sliver of desperation in his eyes, which makes my heart beat a mile a minute.
Cash fucking Brooks. Get in my bed.
Is that a good enough review for you guys?
And he’s every woman’s dirty fantasy in the state of California.., except one… Quinn Ashby.
Recent graduate of Penn and top of her class, Quinn is whip smart, ambitious and interning as the new marketing coordinator for the Bexley Bruisers American Hockey League team. The last thing she needs is to waste her time on guys…especially one as lethal to her focus as Cash Brooks.
But once the bad boy hockey star tempts her into his world, threatening her professional future, she’s forced to decide whether to let him into her heart…or to leave him behind forever.
WOW. I tend to have a very hard time with arrogant asses, which Cash totally was. I can’t say when exactly I fell for him but somewhere between the asshole confidence and impish grins he freaking wrapped me around one of those super talented fingers. Maybe it was the scene when he owned his asshole ways, or maybe it was when he bought Quinn tacos. Who knows. Who cares. He OWNED me.
I didn’t get Quinn. At all. I guess maybe that was the point. She felt like she had control of her life but it was a mirage. She didn’t have her shit together at all. Maybe that’s why she was so drawn to Cash even though she claimed she wasn’t. I think that subconsciously she really related to Cash and she embraced his protectiveness. She had done the protecting for so long that it was nice to be the damsel.
The way he lets out a chuckle as he watches me struggle for air, tells me he sees exactly the way his intent, intrusive gaze affects me.
I tore through this book and you should too. If you like hot hockey players and a mystery pick it up today!
I NEED the second book.
